Pitbull Ear Cropping

Contact Us about this service

Personally I like the look of a dog with cropped ears, but some prefer the natural look. The procedure is usally done at about 8 - 12 weeks of age. It is a very simple procedure that can be done by most any vet or other qualified person.

The cropping is done by putting the dog to sleep and measuring the ear to determin where the cut should be made. Then a special clamp is applied to the dogs ear and the cut is done with a scalpel blade, after the cut is made a special pair of surgical shears are used to snip the bottom cartilage. After the ear is formed it is then sutured up to heal. Depending on the lenght of the ear it might have to be posted to stand correctly.

If you are in need of ear crop on a pitbull contact us for a referal and we will do the best we can to help you find a qualified person in your area that can preform this surgery.

Please do not attempt to do this at home it requires drugs to put the dog to sleep and proper equipment to keep infection out. It will be very painful for a pup if you were to try this while the dog was awake. Which might result in a bad ear job or you getting bit.

Prices on this procedure is usally around $100
